A China consolidation warehouse receives domestic parcels, checks them, combines suitable orders and prepares one coordinated international shipment.

How the consolidation process works
First, each supplier receives the warehouse address and a unique shipment reference. Suppliers send their orders by domestic courier or freight. The warehouse records arrival, identifies the buyer and checks the number of cartons.
After all expected orders arrive, the warehouse can perform the agreed receiving checks, resolve discrepancies, combine cartons, improve packaging and prepare export documents. The final shipment is then dispatched by courier, air, sea, rail or another suitable route.
Receiving check is not the same as quality inspection
A basic receiving check normally confirms parcel arrival, carton count and obvious external damage. It may also include simple photographs or a quick quantity check.
A detailed inspection is different. It can include SKU-level quantity, dimensions, workmanship, function, colour, labelling and packaging against an approved checklist. Buyers should define the required level before goods arrive; “check the products” is too vague.
Information your warehouse needs
Provide a purchase list with supplier name, order number, SKU, expected quantity, carton estimate and tracking number. Each parcel should carry a consistent customer or project reference.
For international dispatch, also provide the consignee details, destination, product description, declared value, HS code if known, battery or restricted-goods information and preferred delivery terms.

However, consolidation is not always cheaper. Heavy and light products, batteries, liquids, oversized goods or products with different customs requirements may need separate routes. Compare shipment plans using actual packed dimensions and weights.
Common consolidation mistakes
The first mistake is shipping goods to a warehouse without an identifying reference. The second is assuming every parcel will receive a full inspection. The third is requesting an international freight quote before final carton dimensions are available.
Other risks include mixing SKUs without a packing list, using weak cartons, combining restricted goods with general cargo and allowing products to remain in storage without a dispatch plan.
